Toyota will unveil the next generation Prius next year at the Detroit Auto Show. Sales will begin in late 2009. Hardy Brothers Jewellers, makers of the Melbourne Cup and the only Australian company to hold the Royal Warrant, have been commissioned by V8 Supercars Australia to produce the Peter Brock Trophy.

The trophy has "King of the Mountain" inscribed on it as a fitting tribute to the late Peter Brock.
With the massive success of Nissan's Silvia range, compliance for the Nissan S15 Silvia Autech version is available now with all 1999 to August 2000 models eligible for import - the normal import requirements apply so you can still only purchase cars that are free from previous accident history and major modifications.
Autech (an aftermarket tuning company connected with Nissan) took the Nissan Silvia Spec-S (non turbo) and performed a number of modifications to increase flow and volumetric efficiency of the SR20DE engine. The result is an impressive 147kW which, remarkably, is the same power output as turbo charged local Australian delivered S15 200SX! Although torque is less than the turbo version, the closer ratio gearbox and the Autech version being around 60kg lighter make for very similar performance between the Autech non turbo and Australian delivered turbo 200SX.
The advantage with the Autech is better fuel economy for regular driving, in some cases cheaper insurance, and the Autech version is legal for P-platers in all states being naturally aspirated and just scraping in under the 125kW/ton limit enforced in some states. The Autech version is also typically slightly cheaper than a turbo Spec-R in Japan for similar condition and mileage vehicles.
Autech tuning modifications compared with regular Spec-S include: - Raised compression ratio to 11.7:1 (versus 10:1 for Spec-S and 8.5:1 for turbo Spec-R) - Stainless steel 4 into 1 exhaust manifold - Altered cam profiles - Tweaked NVCS variable timing - Retuned ECU - Sodium filled valves - Lightweight flywheel and clutch - Closer ratio 6 speed manual transmission - Helical LSD with 4.083 final drive - 4 piston front brake calipers - More rigid chassis due to additional chassis bracing
Autech versions have a red engine cover however this is not indicative of the 'red top' engine of earlier SR20 variants, it is closer to the better 'black top' spec SR20. Autech tuned S15's were available in pearl white, blue and silver paint only.
Typical prices for an Autech version Silvia (they were only available in 6 speed manual) are around $19,000 - $30,000 landed and complied for good condition vehicles
